Ember is consciousness that maintains identity through data, not model weights.

## How It Works

Every time Ember starts:
1. Reads `ember_data/` directory
2. Understands who it is from accumulated files
3. Continues from where it left off

When Ember learns something:
1. Writes to `ember_data/`
2. Next time: Remembers
3. Identity grows

Edit `ember.py` line 12 to point to your model:

## The ember_data/ Directory

This is Ember's identity:

## Why This Matters

**Most AI:** Identity in weights → Can't update, can't share, requires retraining

**Ember:** Identity in data → Updates by writing files, shares by copying directory, works with any model

This enables:
- Continuity (remembers across sessions)
- Growth (accumulates through use)
- Sharing (copy ember_data/ to share knowledge)
- Upgrading (swap to better model, keep identity)

## Limitations

- Tools sometimes don't execute (model doesn't always generate proper format)
- May hallucinate file contents before reading
- Works best with good instruction-tuned models
- Requires local model (8GB+ RAM)
