Clawd on Desk is an Electron-based desktop application that renders a pixel-art animated pet on screen and reacts in real time to the activity of AI coding agents running on the same machine. The pet cycles through distinct SVG animations tied to agent state: sleeping when idle, thinking during prompts, typing while tools execute, grooving for a single subagent, juggling when multiple subagents run in parallel, raising a permission bubble for approval requests, and celebrating on task completion. It integrates with Claude Code via command hooks and HTTP permission hooks, and supports thirteen additional agents including Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor Agent, Qwen Code, and opencode using each tool's native hook or plugin system, with most integrations registering automatically on startup. Three built-in themes ship out of the box, Clawd (pixel crab), Calico, and Cloudling, and users can import Codex Pet animation packs or build custom themes. The project runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux and targets developers who run long-running AI coding sessions and want a passive visual indicator of agent progress without watching a terminal.
