Solace Agent Mesh is an open-source Python framework for building event-driven multi-agent AI systems, where specialized agents communicate asynchronously through the Solace Platform Event Broker rather than direct point-to-point calls. Developers install it via pip, initialize a project using a GUI tool (`sam init --gui`), and define collections of agents, each with distinct tools and skills, such as a Database Agent for SQL queries or a MultiModal Agent for generating images and audio. An Orchestrator agent automatically decomposes complex tasks and delegates subtasks to peer agents using the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol. The framework integrates with Claude and other LLMs through configurable API keys, and exposes agent capabilities via REST, a built-in web UI, Slack, or custom gateways. It sits atop Google's Agent Development Kit for AI logic and Solace AI Connector for broker connectivity. Enterprise teams building production-grade, decoupled AI workflows across distributed systems are the primary audience.
