Kubefwd is a Go command-line tool that bulk port forwards all Kubernetes services in one or more namespaces to a local workstation, assigning each service its own unique loopback IP address in the 127.x.x.x range and writing entries to `/etc/hosts` so services remain accessible by their in-cluster names (for example, `db:5432` or `redis:6379`) without any changes to connection strings. Unlike `kubectl port-forward`, which handles one service at a time and does not resolve service names, kubefwd forwards an entire namespace in a single command, auto-reconnects when pods restart, and includes an interactive TUI showing live traffic metrics, bytes transferred, and container log streaming. An optional REST API enables programmatic control of forwarding sessions. The MCP server integration connects kubefwd to Claude Code and Cursor, allowing AI assistants to query forwarding status, start or stop sessions, and inspect cluster service connectivity during development workflows. The tool targets backend developers and DevOps engineers who need realistic local development environments against live Kubernetes clusters without Docker Compose workarounds or environment-specific configuration.
