clawddocs
Clawddocs is an OpenClaw documentation expert skill that helps users navigate and configure the OpenClaw platform through a decision tree system, keyword search, and doc fetching capabilities. Use it when users need setup guidance for providers like Discord or Telegram, troubleshooting help, configuration examples, conceptual explanations, automation instructions, or deployment information across Docker, Linux, or macOS platforms.

- General issues → `debugging`, `gateway/troubleshooting`
- Provider-specific → `providers/troubleshooting`
- Browser tool → `tools/browser-linux-troubleshooting`
- **"How do I configure X?"** → Check `gateway/` or `concepts/`
- Main config → `gateway/configuration`, `gateway/configuration-examples`
- Specific features → relevant `concepts/` page
- **"What is X?"** → Check `concepts/`
- Architecture, sessions, queues, models, etc.
- **"How do I automate X?"** → Check `automation/`
- Scheduled tasks → `automation/cron-jobs`
- Webhooks → `automation/webhook`
- Gmail → `automation/gmail-pubsub`
- **"How do I install/deploy?"** → Check `install/` or `platforms/`
- Docker → `install/docker`

## Available Scripts
All scripts are in `./scripts/`:

./scripts/fetch-doc.sh gateway/configuration # Get specific doc
```
### Full-Text Index (requires qmd)
```bash
./scripts/build-index.sh fetch # Download all docs
./scripts/build-index.sh build # Build search index
./scripts/build-index.sh search "webhook retry" # Semantic search
```
## Config Snippets
See `./snippets/common-configs.md` for ready-to-use configuration patterns:
- Provider setup (Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.)
- Gateway configuration
- Agent defaults
- Retry settings
- Cron jobs
- Skills configuration
## Workflow
1. **Identify the need** using the decision tree above
2. **Search** "if unsure: `./scripts/search.sh <keyword>`"
3. **Fetch the doc**: `./scripts/fetch-doc.sh <path>` or use browser
4. **Reference snippets** for config examples
5. **Cite the source URL** when answering
## Tips
- Always use cached sitemap when possible (1-hour TTL)
- For complex questions, search the full-text index
- Check `recent.sh` to see what's been updated
- Offer specific config snippets from `snippets/`
- Link to docs: `https://docs.openclaw.ai/<path>`
## Example Interactions
**User:** "How do I make my bot only respond when mentioned in Discord?"
**You:**
1. Fetch `providers/discord` doc
2. Find the `requireMention` setting
3. Provide the config snippet:
```json
{
"discord": {
"guilds": {
"*": {
"requireMention": true
}
}
}
}
```
4. Link: https://docs.openclaw.ai/providers/discord
**User:** "What's new in the docs?"
**You:**
1. Run `./scripts/recent.sh 7`
2. Summarize recently updated pages
3. Offer to dive into any specific updatesAutomatically update OpenClaw and selected skills once daily. Runs via cron, checks for updates, applies them, and messages the user with a summary of what changed.
Check for new OpenClaw releases and notify once per new version.
Bulk download images from login-protected gallery websites using an attached browser session. Use when asked to scrape, download, or save images from authenticated gallery pages, extract full-size images from thumbnails, or batch download from multi-page galleries.
Three-Layer Memory System — automatic fact extraction, entity-based knowledge graph, and weekly synthesis. Manages life/areas/ entities with atomic facts and living summaries.
Captures learnings, errors, and corrections to enable continuous improvement. Use when: (1) A command or operation fails unexpectedly, (2) User corrects Claude ('No, that's wrong...', 'Actually...'), (3) User requests a capability that doesn't exist, (4) An external API or tool fails, (5) Claude realizes its knowledge is outdated or incorrect, (6) A better approach is discovered for a recurring task. Also review learnings before major tasks.
Sync skills between local installation and the GitHub source-of-truth repository. Use when asked to install, update, list, or push skills.
Persistent TODO scratch pad for tracking tasks across sessions. Use when user says "add to TODO", "what's on the TODO", "mark X done", "show TODO list", "remove from TODO", or asks about pending tasks. Also triggers on heartbeat to remind about stale items.
Use when the user asks to run Codex CLI (codex exec, codex resume) or references OpenAI Codex for code analysis, refactoring, or automated editing. Uses GPT-5.2 by default for state-of-the-art software engineering.
