Open Claude Cowork is a native desktop application, built in TypeScript with Bun, that wraps Claude Code in a graphical interface for macOS and Linux (with Windows binaries also available). Rather than running Claude Code exclusively in a terminal, it provides a visual environment for creating tasks, tracking multiple sessions simultaneously, and inspecting tool outputs in a more accessible way. It reuses the existing Claude Code configuration file at `~/.claude/settings.json`, so no separate authentication setup is required. The application calls the Claude Code SDK underneath without requiring users to learn the SDK directly.
