### What TikTok data does Trends API provide?

Hashtag volume over time (normalized 0-100), growth percentages over 3M/6M/12M/5Y windows, and live feeds: trending hashtags, trending searches and TikTok Shop hot products.

### Do I need a TikTok developer account?

No. There is no OAuth flow, no app review and no approval wait. One Trends API key covers TikTok and every other source.

### How early can I detect a TikTok trend?

Daily data for the last 30 days plus weekly history lets you catch early growth spikes before a hashtag reaches mainstream saturation. TikTok spikes typically lead Google Search interest by 2-4 weeks.

### Are hashtags case-sensitive?

No. `booktok`, `BookTok` and `#booktok` all resolve to the same signal.

### Can I compare TikTok against other platforms?

Yes - that is the point of the product. Query `tiktok`, `youtube` and `google search` for the same keyword and compare normalized scores directly.
